I just got my laptop factory fresh and charged it for a flight i had the next day, i used all your advice and got down to 54% power of normal. I have the 9 cell battery and i got 10h30mins!!! It was a 12 hr flight and for once i wasn't bored the whole flight. Admittedly all i did was code AJAX/XHTML in Ultra-Edit 32 but still 10.5hrs even surpasses dell's reportedly outlandish claim of 7+ hrs of battery life, thanks dude! I got all my work done and now i got a week free to laze around and pretend to do work i've already done.
